Campground Rules & Regulations

Ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all campers

Thank you for choosing to stay at Beaver Dam Campground. We are proud of our park and happy to have you as our guest. The following rules are intended to provide an enjoyable family camping experience for you and your neighbors. Parents are advised to inform their children of these rules and are responsible for their supervision. Violation of these rules could mean early departure without a refund.

Holiday weekends require a 3-night minimum stay at peak rate with non-refundable advance payment in full.

Rates are based on 2 adults over 21 years of age and their 2 children under 18 years. Each additional child is $5.00 per night; each additional adult is $7.00 per night. Maximum of 8 people per site, of which 4 may be adults. Monthly rates are based on 4 weeks, and weekly rates are based on 7 nights. Rates are subject to change and increase during holidays.

Non-Refundable Deposits

All reservations require a 50% deposit. A non-refundable amount based on the reserved stay length is required at the point the reservation is made. Monthly stays require a $100 per month non-refundable deposit. Weekly stays require a $50 per week non-refundable deposit. Any stays for less than a week will require a $25 non-refundable deposit. All cabin reservations require a $50 non-refundable deposit. All non-refundable advance deposits will be applied towards the total cost of the stay, with the balance due at check-in.

Excluding the non-refundable deposit, refunds are given for cancellations received up to 14 days prior to arrival, EXCEPT for holiday reservations, which are non-refundable and non-transferable. No refunds or credits for reservations canceled less than 14 days before arrival; the remainder of the 50% deposit will be charged to the customer. If changing a reservation during check-in to decrease stay, you will be charged for the length of the original reservation.

Sorry, no rain checks. Try as we might, we are unable to control Mother Nature!

Payment Method

Visa, Discover and MasterCard gladly accepted. Unfortunately, personal checks are not accepted at check-in; however, we will accept them for deposit 14 days prior to arrival.

All campers, visitors, guests, and pets must be registered at the office upon arrival and prior to entering the campground, per Maine State Law. All fees must be paid in advance. Our rates are based on 2 adults over the age of 21 and their 2 family members under 18. Registered campers are responsible for ensuring their visitors have properly registered in the office and that all campground rules are followed.

Camping Equipment

We allow only one RV and no more than two camping units per site. You may have an RV and tent on a site, a pop-up with a tent, or two tents maximum per site.

Facilities in this park are for use by registered guests only. Visitors are required to register at the office before entering the park. There can be no more than 8 people (maximum of 4 adults) registered to one site at any given time. All visitors must leave the park by 10:00 pm unless registered as overnight guests. Please register overnight guests by 8:00 pm in the office. Registered campers are responsible for ensuring their visitors have properly registered in the office and that all campground rules are obeyed. Visitors to your site may not bring pets.

Speed Limit

The speed limit is 5 mph.
If it seems ridiculously slow, you’re doing it right! Motorcycles are to be used for in and out travel only. No motorized or battery-powered vehicles are permitted in the park other than those registered and assigned a valid tag. All vehicles must have a valid ID tag displayed at all times. No bicycle riding after dark.

Registered guests must park on their assigned site. We allow only one vehicle to a site. In an emergency requiring police, fire, or ambulance services, multiple vehicles on a site hinder services that may be needed. Therefore, additional vehicles must be left in the Visitor’s parking lot only.

Washing RVs (campers) and vehicles is not permitted.

Quiet Hours

Quiet Hours are 10:00 pm – 8:00 am
All campers should return to their site by 10:00 pm, and daily visitors/guests are required to leave at this time. The quality of rest and relaxation is important to all campers, so please refrain from loud noises and disturbances during this period. All radios and TVs must be at minimum volume settings, and be aware that normal speaking voices carry. Please ensure your children remain at your site until 8:00 am. Our quiet hours are strictly enforced.

Beaver Dam is pet-friendly, but owners will be totally responsible for their pets at all times. Pets cannot be left unattended at any time and must be on a leash when not inside your RV. You may not leave your pet inside your RV if you leave the campground. All pet litter must be cleaned up immediately, and those not in compliance will be asked to leave the park. Noisy pets will not be allowed to stay, and only one warning will be issued before a request to remove the pet from the park. We do not allow pets in the bathhouse, playground, beach areas, or in our rental units. Please provide proof of vaccination at check-in. Call in advance for specific breed restrictions. You are totally liable for your pet should there be any claim.

All fires must be contained inside the metal fire rings located on each site. Campfires must be kept knee-high or below and not left unattended. Fire rings must not be used to dispose of cans, bottles, or other household trash. The placements of fire rings have been approved by the Berwick Fire Department and should not be moved for safety reasons. All fires must be extinguished by midnight. No tiki/bug torches are permitted.

Firewood / Trees

Maine State law prohibits transporting firewood from out of state. Firewood is sold in the store. No cutting of trees/firewood is allowed in the campground or adjoining properties. All firewood brought into the park must be removed prior to checkout. Please do not drive nails into or disfigure trees. Additionally, please do not tie clotheslines to trees or shrubs. For further information, go to

Sink (Grey) Water

The discharge of grey water into the environment has been found to be a significant risk to public health. Grey water can have a population of bacteria approaching or exceeding the populations of black water. Health Department regulations do not permit draining sink water on the ground or into open containers. If your site has septic service, connect your wastewater outlets to the sewer pipe, and ensure that the connections are tight and do not leak. Please contact the office if you are unsure how to perform this connection. Grey water is sometimes discharged into portable blue tanks. The contents of the blue tank must be discharged into the dump station.

Dump Station / Portable Sani-Station

The dumping station is located in the visitor parking area and is free to all registered campers. We also have a “honey wagon” service available on Mondays and Thursdays only (weather permitting). Service must be paid for and requested 24 hours in advance.

Swimming Pool / Pond Warning!

There is no lifeguard on duty, and absolutely NO DIVING is permitted! Pool hours are 9:30 am to dusk. There is no swimming after sunset. All swimming is at your own risk. No children under 12 years old are allowed in the pool or pond without adult supervision. Pool rules must be observed at all times. No smoking, food, beverages, or pets are allowed in the pool or on the pool deck. Swimming in the pond is limited to the roped swim area only. Rafts/tubes are only to be used in the pond. Toddlers in diapers must wear swim pants (available in the camp store for a nominal fee) in the pool and pond. The swimming pool is open from Memorial Day thru Labor Day.

No motor-operated boats (gas or electric) are allowed in the pond. All boats brought into the park must be inspected for invasive weeds. We rent rowboats, paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, and tubes for your convenience and pleasure. An adult must accompany children under 12. Life jackets are available and required (no charge) with every rental. All equipment is subject to a security deposit. See the office for more info and for fees.

Please bag your garbage and use the can nearest to your site. Only household-generated garbage should be placed in the cans. Fire rings must not be used to dispose of cans, bottles, and household trash. Broken furniture, grills, rugs, etc., are not considered household trash and should be taken with you. This is our home, and we take pride in the cleanliness of our park. Please do not litter. This includes cigarette butts!

To avoid accidents and injuries, an adult should accompany children under 6 years old to the bathhouse. We take pride in the cleanliness of our facilities, and we would appreciate your help in maintaining them. The bathhouse is closed daily from 10:30 am-11:00 am on the Men’s side and 11:00 am-11:30 am on the Women’s side for cleaning and sanitation. Please be out of the bathhouse during these times.

Since this is a family park, the use of alcohol is limited to your site. It should not be brought into any common areas.

Please respect the privacy of other campers and the owners. Do not walk through or between occupied sites or through the yard of the private house. Please use designated roads and pathways when walking through the park.
